Dừa làm mứt bạn chọn loại dừa bánh tẻ có ruột dày vừa phải, bóp vào mềm mềm thì khi làm thành mứt, dừa sẽ ngon, dẻo và thơm hơn. Sau khi trộn xong, bạn để như vậy khoảng 30 phút hay cho đến khi dừa chuyển sang màu trắng trong.
Cho dừa và nước đường vào một cái chảo to, dày, xào dừa ở ngọn lửa lớn, đảo đều tay để tránh mứt dừa bị cháy. Dừa sôi gần hết nước thì hạ lửa nhỏ, đảo liên tục. Khi thấy đường kéo thành sợi trên đũa như hình 2 thì tắt bếp. Trải dừa ra khay, để yên từ 10-15 phút cho dừa nguội. Khi dừa nguội, bạn bóp dừa để đường rớt ra ngoài, món mứt dừa của bạn sẽ không quá ngọt.
